Security risks for Manorhamilton residents when it comes to transporting cash

A Manorhamilton based County Coucillor and businessman is warning of security risks for the business community and the elderly as a result of the lack of banking services being provided in the north Leitrim town.

The situation has arisen with Bank of Ireland about to close their branch in the town while customers of AIB were informed last week that ‘over counter transactions’ would cease in December.

Independent Councillor Felim Gurn says that there will be increased risks involved for the business community and the elderly when it comes to withdrawing cash.
