LEITRIM
Last year’s county finalists St Mary’s are through to the sem-finals of the 2021 Connacht Gold senior football championship in Leitrim after Saturday’s comprehensive 3-11 to 1-7 win against Aughawillan in Carrick-on-Shannon.

The second of this weekend’s senior quarter-finals – holders Mohill hammered Gortletteragh by 4-25 to 1-1

In Drumkeerin,  Melvin Gaels won the senior relegation play-off with a 2-10 to 1-7 victory over Allen Gaels, who make the drop to intermediate football next year.

DONEGAL
Holders Naomh Conaill began their 2021 Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure senior football championship title with a hard-fought 0-11 to 0-8 win against Glenfin in Glenties on Saturday afternoon.

SLIGO
The Homeland Sligo senior football championship resumes at 5:30pm today with three games.

In Group 1, St Mary’s beat Tubbercurry at Markievicz Park by 2-11 to 3-6 in a highly-entertaining game. Mary’s led 2-9 to 1-0 at one stage in the second-half but had to withstand a spirited Tubber revival before winning by two points.

In Group 2, Drumcliffe/Rosses Point beat Coolaney/Mullinabreena in Scarden by 1-9 to 0-10, while Shamrock Gaels had seven points to spare over Geevagh in Bunninadden on final scoreline of 2-9 to 0-8. The Gaels will play DRP next Saturday at Kent Park in a match which will decide who joins Tourlestrane from Group 2 in the knockstages.

Earlier, in the Connacht Gold intermediate championship, St Molaise Gaels beat Eastern Harps at Markievicz Park by 0-12 to 0-8.
