Leitrim Councillors have asked the local authority to explore the possibility of installing CCTV in Drumkeeran.
A join motion is being submitted by Sinn Fein Councillor Padraig Fallon and Fianna Fail Councillor, Mary Bohan.
Councillor Fallon says residents have raised concerns over security following two separate break ins at the local shop in July and August.
He says there is also no Garda Station in the village which is only adding to concerns.
