There was disappointment for Donegal minor gaelic footballers on Friday evening in Enniskillen as they finished second best to a fine Tyrone team, on a final scoreline of 2-11 to 1-7.
Tyrone controlled most of the first half but Donegal managed to stay in touch with them and trailed by just three points at the interval, 0-7 to 0-4.
The red hand county might have been much further in front but they racked up 12 first-half wides.
Luke Barrett’s side upped their performance considerably after the re-start and closed the gap to just two points at one stage.
But then two defensive errors in as many minutes gifted Tyrone two goals, which ended the game as a contest.
Second-half substitute Karl Joseph Molloy scored a memorable goal for Donegal in the closing quarter but Tyrone were deserving winners at the finish.
The new Ulster minor champions now play Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final.
