Over €40m so far given to healthcare projects in the north west this year

Over €40m has so far been allocated for numerous healthcare projects across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal this year.

This includes €9.52m towards the new 80 Community Nursing unit replacing the existing beds at the Sheil hospital and the Rock in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal.

Almost €5m towards the Primary Care Centre in Tubbercurry Co. Sligo and €1.28m to provide 90 Community Nursing Unit beds in Carrick on Shannon.

Funding for extension works, additional bed capacity and more has come from the The Health Capital Plan 2021.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Minister of State at the Department of Health and Sligo/Leitrim TD, Frank Feighan says the funding is vital during the pandemic.
