‘It was a no-brainer’ – John Prenty on taking Connacht final to Croke Park

This year’s Connacht senior football final on July 25th will be played at Croke Park.

Connacht GAA confirmed the decision on Tuesday evening.

The original venue for the Galway-Mayo decider, Elvery’s McHale Park, can only hold 3,600 spectators under current Covid restrictions.

Taking the game to GAA headquarters enables a crowd of 18,000 to attend the provincial final.

Connacht GAA’s John Prenty spoke to John Lynch about the decision to take the Connacht final to Dublin.
