Gardai release man in Lifford hit-and-run investigation



The man in his 40s arrested as part of the Garda investigation into a fatal hit and run collision in Lifford, Co Donegal, on Sunday, has been released without charge.

This investigation is ongoing and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The incident led to the death of a 34 year old mother of one.

The woman, named locally as Laura Connolly, was struck by a white van, close to Townparks, in Lifford.

The van failed to remain at the scene.
