A Donegal TD has dismissed calls for localised restrictions to be introduced into counties where Covid-19 cases are high.
Concern in relation to the incidence rate of Covid-19 figures in Donegal has been expressed by medical experts.
The latest figures from the HSE show that the Covid-19 incidence rate now stands at 342.4 per 100,000 while the national average of 115.5 cases per 100,000.
Donegal Independent TD Thomas Pringle says the figure in Donegal is likely to be replicated across the Country as the Delta variant of Covid continues to spread.
The Donegal TD says with the UK easing restrictions there will be a knock-on effect in the Republic of Ireland.
