34 people waiting on hospital beds in Sligo



Sligo University Hospital has the second-highest amount of people waiting for a bed in the country at 34 according to the latest Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation figures.

 

21 are in the emergency department and 13 elsewhere in the hospital.

 

The numbers are also high in Letterkenny University Hospital with 28 waiting; 9 in the emergency department and 19 elsewhere.

 

The hospital is the fourth-worst nationally, behind University Hospital Galway where their figure is 30.

 

This day last week there were 17 waiting in Sligo and 5 in Letterkenny.

 

A total of 293 people are waiting around the country today with the worst-hit hospital once again being Limerick University Hospital where a total of 60 people are waiting.
