Schools throughout Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal are to benefit from funding under a scheme to promote walking and cycling.
Five schools in Donegal will get money, four in Sligo and three in Leitrim.
Minister of State at the Department of Health Frank Feighan says more money will be coming for other schools who applied under the Safe Routes to School Programme.
