Taoiseach and Attorney General to discuss Mica Scandal

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin will meet the State Attorney General Paul Gallagher in the coming days to discuss the mica scandal which is impacting homes in Donegal, Sligo and Mayo.

The Fianna Fáil Leader confirmed in the media of the weekend that the meeting will discuss how the Government can deal with the issue of defective blocks, and how it can pursue those responsible for their production.

It’s expected the Taoiseach tell the Attorney General he wants to hold insurance companies that have not helped those affected to account.

Michael Martin says he’s very angry and shocked by the scandal which has negatively impacted several homeowners across the North West.  A number of protests have already taken place in Donegal and Mayo to raise awareness in relation to the situation and the lack of a 100% redress scheme.
