Impressive Leitrim reach LGFA league final



Leitrim’s women’s gaelic footballers are preparing for a national league final follow Sunday’s impressive 4-12 to 2-7 success against Limerick in their Lidl Division 4 semi-final, played at Miltown in county Galway.

Hugh Donnelly’s side made a blistering start to this game, established a 3-8 to 0-2 interval lead.

While Limerick found the net on two occasions in the second half, the result was never in doubt and Leitrim had 11 points to spare by the finish.

Team captain Clare Owens gave her reaction to Ocean FM Sport’s PJ Leddy after the final whistle.

 

Leitrim’s Division 4 final, against Louth (who beat Offaly in Sunday’s other semi-final), will be played on Sunday, June 27th – with the venue and time still to be confirmed.

Elswhere, there was disappointment for Sligo in their Division 3 semi-final as they lost to Kildare in Kiltoom by 2-14 to 1-8.
