Over €2.1m allocated to carry out ‘climate resilient’ road works in the region

Almost €2.1m in funding is being distributed in the north west for ‘climate resilient’ road works.

Climate resilient works are the likes of alleviating road flooding, altering the level of the road to prevent flooding, strengthening bridges and carrying out repairs.

Just over €500,000 is going towards works in Sligo, €496,000 in Leitrim while just under €1.1m is allocatted for Co. Donegal.

The funding also provides €101,000 for the completion of remedial works after the landslide at Shass Mountain in Dumkeerin in July 2020.

Minister of State at the Department of Health and Sligo/Leitrim TD, Frank Feighan is welcoming the news and gives details of some of the specific areas that will benefit.
