More needs to be done to help mica homeowners

A Donegal TD says homeowners affected by defective mica blocks need action not ‘more broken promises.’

Independent Deputy, Thomas Pringle is criticising the government for not publishing the criteria used by the working group that was partially set up to examine mica affected homes.

He says Minister for Housing, Darragh O’Brien, said the group would be set up in the first quarter of this year and they were due to report back with their findings by July.

However, TD Pringle says only a Chairperson has been appointed to the committee and it is not yet operational.

Speaking to OceanFM News, he says the the group needs to be set up as soon as possible.
