Taoiseach called to reimburse Sligo Airport for safety works



A Sligo Leitrim TD has called again on the Taoiseach to ensure that an urgent payment is made to Sligo Airport Company in relation monies already spent on necessary safety works which were required by the Irish Aviation Authority.

 

Speaking in the Dáil yesterday, Deputy Harkin emphasised the urgent need for the €280,000 already spent on upgrading runways and safety areas to be allocated to the Sligo Airport Company.

 

The Independent TD says that since 2011 Sligo Airport has received no public money despite the busiest coastguard service in the country operating out of the North West facility:
