People reminded to stay safe around water this bank holiday weekend

The Irish Coast Guard and RNLI have issued water warnings for the north west region ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.

The respective warning have been made after recent demand for their services.

The Coast Guard and RNLI are expecting a busy May Bank Holiday weekend on the coasts and inland waters, with more people enjoying the warmer weather and the brighter evenings.

Both organisations are asking people to plan ahead for any water based or coastal activities by taking a number of basic precautions.
