Food Ombudsman must investigate importation of Lamb Meat



The IFA President Tim Cullinan has made renewed calls for the Food Ombudsman/Regulator to be afforded real power where they can hold processors and retailers to account.

 

Mr Cullinan who succeeded Joe Healy as President of the largest farm association in Ireland has called for the role to become operational immediately.

 

 

The Tipperary official sasy  recent events where a large quantity of lamb meat was imported from the UK to an Irish Meat factory is  an attempt  to reduce favourable  market prices that farmers have been enjoing recently:
