Concern expressed with Donegal numbers on Jobseeker’s allownace

Donegal is the second highest county in the Country when it comes to the number of people on the full rate of jobseeker’s allowance for at least 10 years.

Nationally Nearly 7,000 unemployed people have been on the full rate for that period of time.

Almost 1,800 are in Dublin, and Donegal is the next highest, with 470.

Nearly 16,000 people across the country have been on the payment for over five years.

Sinn Féin’s employment spokesperson, Louise O’Reilly, says some vulnerable groups are worst affected.
