Leitrim County Council is to be asked to ‘seriously consider what is acceptable’ when it comes to new wind farms in the county.
Fine Gael Councillor Frank Dolan says the issue needs to be seriously considered as the council prepares its new county development plan.
He says the ‘enormous height’ of some wind turbines being proposed, as well as their proximity to family homes, are of concern to the general public.
He says while wind energy may be necessary, adequate consideration must be given to how this is actually generated.
