€2.4m for new Cleary Centre in Donegal Town



€2.4m has been allocated for the building of a new Cleary Centre in Donegal Town for those with intellectual disabilities.

€100,000 of the money is to be spent this year on design work.

Mary Gorman, chairperson of the Parents and Friends Association for those with intellectual disabilities, has been telling Ocean FM News how the long-awaited news couldn’t have come at a better time.

Donegal Sinn Fein TD Pearse Doherty says it’s now important that no time is lost in getting the centre built and open.

Donegal Fianna Fail Councillor Micheal Naughton recalls the years of campaigning and effort by many people to get a new Cleary Centre.
