Bank of Ireland urged to sell former buildings to community groups



A Leitrim councillor is calling on Bank of Ireland to work with community based groups when it comes to future uses of soon to close branches across the north west.

 

Bank of Ireland earlier this year announced that they are shutting a number of branches in the counties of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

 

The branch in Drumshanbo is one of the outlets set to close.

 

Drumshanbo based Fine Gael Councillor Enda McGloin says the local community company would be interested in establishing a business hub in the premises which would benefit workers who want to work remotely now and post pandemic.

 

Cllr McGloin says may companies that deploy members of their work force to hubs such as the one being proposed in Drumshanbo will benefit from tax breaks:
