Call for legal protection for marine conservation areas



Marine Protected Areas should be created in Irish law, according to the Irish Wildlife Trust.

The body says it doesn’t oppose the construction of off-shore wind turbines, but insists it should be balanced  with protections in certain areas for marine conservation.

Campaign Manager with the IWT, Padraig Fogarty, says there should be designated areas backed up by legislation as soon as possible:
