There are renewed hopes of greater rail connectivity for the region
The Strategic Rail Review will explore the possibility of increasing the speed on the network as well as enhancing regional accessibility across the Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
The review was jointly announced by Stormont Infrastructure Minister, Nichola Mallon and Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan.
Niall McCaughan, Manager of the Donegal Railway Heritage Centre is welcoming the news highlighting the need for a rail line for Donegal.
