Greater confidence of emerging from pandemic in the North

A Donegal GP says there greater confidence among people living in Northern Ireland of emerging from the Covid-19 pandemic compared to those living in the south.

The confidence levels are being linked to the public’s confidence in the roll out of vaccination processes.

Some public health experts are concerned there’s a ‘gentle upward trend’ in coronavirus figures.

Fears are also being expressed that we are entering a fourth wave driven by the UK variant:

Chair of the GP committee of the Irish Medical Organisation, Dr Denis McCauley says people living in Northern Ireland have a greater sense of hope compared to people living in the Republic due to the vaccine rollout in the two jurisdictions.
