Potential reduction in Ireland’s share of Brexit fund causing concern among farmers

A French proposal that could see Ireland share of a Brexit compensation fund would be have a hugely negative impact for farmers in the region.

That’s according to the Chair of the Leitrim Beef Plan Movement, Brendan Barry.

The proposal would recalculate how much member states would be entitled to with Ireland’s share reducing by upwards by upwards of €200m.

Brendan Barry says Ireland is one of the worst hit by Brexit, and it’s worrying that the fund could be reduced.
