Gardai have confirmed that two people were arrested and more than 80 fines issued over a funeral attended by hundreds of people this week.
It’s estimated that over 300 people gathered for a traveller funeral in Carrick-on-Shannon.
The two individuals were arrested under the Public Order Act and over 80 fines were issued for breach of public health regulations in connection with the gathering.
