Two additional ICU nurses have been allocated to Sligo University Hospital.
The measures have been taken to assist the treatment of Covid-19 patients at the North West hospital which has witnessed an increase in Covid-19 admissions in recent times.
Four additional ICU beds will also be introduced in the hospital in early March.
The Medical Block development at the hospital is alos expected to go to tender later this year.
Sligo Drumcliff Fine Gael Councillor Thomas Walsh, has received confirmation of the additional resources.
