Debris from Dawn of Hope dumped on turf banks

It’s being claimed that peat earth and debris from the landslide at the Dawn of Hope in North Leitrim has been placed on turf banks in the area.

A number of local residents with turbary rights have been impacted by the development.

The local Authority had spread some of the contents from the landslide on nearby Coillte lands but were unaware of that there were turf banks close to the site.

Local Councillor Padraig Fallon has called on the Council to work with the farmers impacted to try and find a resolution to the problem.
