North west residents are urged to extra vigilant about a scam involving the delivery of parcels.
It involves fraudsters purporting to be from DPD requesting payment for delivery of parcels.
DPD has confirmed to Ocean FM News that it is aware of the scam,
It says it dispatches messages advising of delivery times of parcels or informing customers of UK charges, which includes a link to an appropriate site where the charges can be paid.
Deirdre Gunning, from Ballymote in County Sligo, was almost a victim of the scam earlier this morning when she received a text message requesting payment for the delivery of a package.
