A Donegal Councillor says the fact that some people are unable to afford to connect to Irish water is putting their health at risk.
It’s being reported today that more than 100 private water supplies failed to meet the bacterial standard for drinking water in 2019.
The Environmental Protection Agency is calling on suppliers, local authorities and government to improve the situation.
Independent Councillor in the Donegal Municipal District, Niamh Kennedy says that some people are unable to avail of the service from Irish Water or indeed afford to pay the connections costs which can amount to substantial amounts in some cases.
