Tommie Gorman retiring after 41 years



RTE’s Tommie Gorman is to retire in April after 41 years.

The state broadcaster announced that the Sligo native and current Northern Editor for RTÉ News will be replaced by Vincent Kearney, currently northern correspondent.

Tommie Gorman is know internationally for his interview with Roy Keane in 2002 following his departure from the squad during the World Cup in Saipan.

The broadcasters Managing Director, Jon Williams, described Tommie as “the beating heart” of RTÉ News.

He is to appear on tonight’s Late Late Show discussing his career
