Public urged to have their say on new Ballyshannon plan

A new plan for the regeneration and development of Ballyshannon town centre has been launched.

Public consultation on the draft plan, which can be accessed on www.futureballyshannon.com, is open until 4pm on Monday February 15th.

The draft plan was commissioned by Donegal County Council last November.

An architectural, landscape and planning practice, GM Design Associates, is working with the council on the project.

Ruth Diver is executive planner with Donegal County Council’s regeneration and development team. She is also the project lead on the Ballyshannon plan.

She has been telling Ocean FM News about the strategy behind the initiative.

Donegal Fianna Fail Councillor Micheál Naughton says it’s important people have their say on the plan.

Ruth Diver is asking the public in Ballyshannon to think about their place and share their likes, dislikes and aspirations for the future of the town.

She outlines how people can do this.
