A man charged with dangerous driving as a result of ramming a Garda car outside Donegal Town yesterday was remanded in custody to Castlerea Prison at Donegal District Court this morning.
Duane Farry, from Ashfield Gardens, Fintona, Co Tyrone, was also charged with assaulting a garda.
The incident occurred after gardai pursued a car that failed to stop yesterday, Sunday, at Drumlonagher Roundabout.
Farry lost control of the vehicle at Tullyearl Roundabout and then fled on foot through fields.
During the subsequent arrest, a garda was allegedly assaulted when his finger was injured.
At Donegal District Court this morning, Judge Kevin Kilrane refused bail, saying it was likely the defendant would not turn up for his trial.
GSOC is also investigating the incident as a shot was fired from a Garda firearm.
