Roads flooded in parts of Sligo



Sligo County Council says persistent rain has caused flooding in many areas of the county.

Roads affects included the ‘Long Stretch’ Carraroe, road, which is closed, with diversions in place.

There’s also flooding on the Back Avenue/Cleveragh Retail Park area of Sligo Town, and on the R292 between Culleenamore and Standhill.

A Status Yellow rainfall warning remains in place until 9 o’clock tonight for a number of counties,  including all those in Connacht as well as Cavan and Monaghan

Met Eireann says heavy rainfall will lead to accumulations of 30 to 50mm, with higher accumulations in mountainous areas.
