Women’s Six Nations is suspended

Six Nations organisers have suspended this season’s Women’s competition, and the men’s under-20’s.

The women’s championship is being pushed back because most of the competing teams are amateur (with the exception of England) and this poses various Covid logistical issues in terms of testing and team bubbles.

The men’s senior competition is due to proceed as planned on February 6th, although the French Ministry for Sport wants further guarantees over player safety.

Ireland begin their campaign away to Wales on February 7th, with France due to visit Dublin a week later.

Organisers hope to play the women’s and under-20 editions later in the year.
