Sligo Rovers and Everton FC announce new partnership

Sligo Rovers have announced a new partnership with English Premier Division Side, Everton.

The new agreement will see both clubs sharing their expertise in both coaching and business.

It will provide an opportunity for Sligo Rovers and Everton coaches to develop working relationships and facilitate pre-season training bases at both clubs.

Seamus Coleman, a current Everton player and formerly of Sligo Rovers, said he’s delighted with the partnership and is looking forward to the future of the relationship between both clubs.

The clubs have played each other in several friendlies across different age groups and, more recently, Everton fans heavily supported the Bit O’ Red Supporters Trust campaign which raised more than €85,000 to allow the team fund the remainder of the 2020 season which ultimately ended in European qualification.

Sligo Rovers chairman, Tommy Higgins, said he hopes it will be the beginning of a ‘very fruitful partnership and that the initial focus will be on ‘seeing the benefits for all parties’.
