BreastCheck message from Donegal Action for Cancer Care

Donegal Action for Cancer Care is urging women scheduled for follow-up assessment from today (Monday) to continue to attend BreastCheck appointments on the day and times they are given.

Because of Covid-19, resources are focused on women deemed to be at higher risk at this time. These are women in the assessment phase of breast screening.

For all other women, the aim is to continue routine breast screening from January 11th.

Betty Holmes, of Donegal Action for Cancer Care, says it’s important that people who are unable to keep their appointments let the service know.

She says people who are unwell, who are self-isolating, who have Covid symptoms or if they are a close contact of a confirmed case, should not attend.
