Workers in early years sector forgotten about, says Sligo SIPTU member

The vice chairman of the Sligo SIPTU Big Start Committee says the health of workers in the early years sector has been forgotten about in decisions made by the government in relation to Covid.

John Davey says he and his colleagues were shocked yesterday evening on hearing that schools are to remain closed until at least January 11th.

He asks how it is deemed to be safe for early years teachers to return to work.

And he says he doesn’t think it’s an exaggeration to say those working in the early years sector have been forgotten about.
