‘Walk with Mary Ellen’ this St Stephen’s Day

A Donegal family is organising a major fundraiser – ‘Walk with M.E.’ – for two charities this Saturday, December 26th.

The event is being organised by the Molloy family in Ardara, in memory of Mary Ellen Molloy who was killed in Australia just a few days before Christmas last year.

Mary Ellen, who was 26, died when a tree fell on a taxi she was travelling in with two of her fellow nurses in Melbourne on December 20th, 2019.

Saturday’s ‘Walk with M.E.’ event will see people from across Donegal and Melbourne come together and walk or jog 5k to raise funds for the Downstrands Family Resource Centre and the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.

The event will take place from 12 to 3pm on Saturday along the shoreline of Lough Eske.

Registration will take place at the back carpark of Lough Eske Castle Hotel from 11:30am.

Covid social distancing guidelines will be observed at all stages during the event.

You can make an online donation using the ‘Walk with M.E.GoFundMe page here.
