Doherty calls for reconsideration of ban on live music at weddings

A Donegal TD is calling on the government to reconsider the ban on live music at weddings, which are limited to 25 people.

Sinn Fein Deputy Pearse Doherty says a number of couples have approached him and local councillors about the matter.

Deputy Doherty added that the ban is not in the government’s regulations but was subsequently decided by the ministers for health and tourism.

He also said it’s very unfortunate that it had been left to hotels and venues to break the news to couples that live music was not allowed.
