County Donegal continues to have the largest number of new Covid-19 cases in the north west.
In figures announced yesterday evening, the county had 19 new cases, with 7 in Sligo, 6 in Cavan and none in Leitrim.
The number of cases in the past 14 days in the counties were 366 in Donegal, 61 in Cavan, 26 in Sligo and 5 in Leitrim.
Nationally, 313 new cases of Covid 19 were confirmed last night, with 3 more deaths – while the 14 day incident rate has increased to 81.2
The Chief Medical Officer says it’s crucial people ‘ration’ their social contacts in the weeks ahead.
Dr Tony Holohan says the public needs to play it safe and choose their contacts carefully in the run up to Christmas.
