Greg Bolger joins Sligo Rovers

Sligo Rovers have signed midfielder Greg Bolger from new SSE Aitricity League Premier Division champions Shamrock Rovers.

Bolger ‘swaps’ his Rovers shirt after three seasons at Tallaght Stadium. His last game for the Dublin Rovers was as a second-half substitute in the recent FAI Cup final defeat to Dundalk.

He spoke about his move to Ocean FM Sport’s Austin O’Callaghan:

A native of Wexfod, Bolger comes with a strong pedigree having won league and cup titles with both Cork City and St Patrick’s Athletic.

He also had spells with Sporting Fingal and Dundalk.

The 32-year-old suffered a badly-broken leg in a mid-summer friendly, and actually made his competitive return to action five months later in a league game against Sligo Rovers.
