Calls for audit into public funded projects in Easkey

A Sligo councillor is calling on the county council to carry out an audit into all planning permissions of public-funded capital projects in the west Sligo village of Easkey.

Solidarity People Before Profit Councillor Gino O Boyle put down the motion at yesterday’s December monthly meeting of the council.

He said he did so because of what he said was ongoing correspondence from concerned citizens to elected and executive member of the council in relation to sewage flowing along the streets of Easkey village and alleged pollution of the Easkey River.

Cllr. O Boyle said it was important to ensure ALL projects complied with ALL conditions and not just ‘substantially complied.
