A member of the Carrick-on-Shannon rowing club is planning a very different Christmas than the rest of us this year.
Liam Cox, who’s 26 and originally from Leitrim village, is going to run a marathon every day for 12 days over the Christmas period.
He’s raising money for North West Stop – the voluntary suicide prevention body.
He’ll start on December the 20th in Manorhamilton – and finish on New Years Eve in Carrick. So he must be a competitive enough athlete to take this on.
Liam spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Austin O’Callaghan about his festive marathon plan:
Donations for Liam Cox’s 12 marathons of Christmas, in aid of North West Stop, are being accepted online here.
