Hotels & Restaurants struggling to secure staff

Local Hotels and Restaurants in the north west are finding it difficult to secure the services of staff in the lead up to Christmas.

There are a number of factors contributing to the shortage of staff, including workers moving from the hospitality sector to supermarkets and pharmacies.

It’s also understood that those currently on the pandemic unemployment payment are reluctant to take jobs in the hospitality sector with fears that a third lockdown could be coming down the tracks in January.

Local Hotelier and Donegal Councillor. Michael Naughton says many restaurants and Hotels are struggling to secure staff.
