Taoiseach urges caution around pubs & restaurants

The Taoiseach has warned people need to take personal responsibility on the first weekend pubs and restaurants are back open.

Yesterday was the first time venues were allowed to serve food indoors since October.

There is a fear among public health officials that the increased socialising will lead to a spike in the number of COVID cases again.

According to the latest set of covid-19 figures, there were 265 new cases and 6 additional deaths.

19 new cases were reported in Donegal while the number of cases in both Sligo and Leitrim were less than 5.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin says it’s in everyone’s own hands to prevent numbers increasing further.
