Put into a field with animals as punishment – Woman’s experience of Sligo orphanage

A local woman has been describing her horrendous treatment while being brought up at an orphanage in Sligo – this included being physically beaten, and being put out into a field with sheep when she was considered to have done something wrong. The woman ended up in a mother and baby home, was separated from her mother, and lived most of her life in orphanages
