Killybegs Fishermen’s Organisation CEO says Brexit deal ‘endgame’ is near

The chief executive of the Killybegs Fishermen’s Organisation says the endgame is now near in the ongoing negotiations between Britain and the EU over fisheries.

Sean O’Donoghue expects news of whether or not there will be a deal by the end of this week.

He says there can be no deal if fishermen from Donegal do not have access to international waters and that the UK will have to move back from its demand to double its catch and have annual negotiations on access to waters.

But Mr O’Dongohue says that as of now, nothing has been agreed.

With a major focus now on the fisheries negotiations, we asked Mr O’Donoghue what now was the message for Donegal fishermen.
