Improvements planned for Rosses Point, Strandhill beaches

Sligo County Council is to upgrade facilities at Rosses Point and and Strandhill Beaches.

In a response to a motion submitted by Independent Councillor Marie Casserly on fitting shower facilities at Rosses Point, the local authority say it intends to hire an urban designer to enhance both Rosses Point and Strandhill Villages.

Funding has been allocated under the National Rural Regeneration Development Fund.

Priority works are to be given to building new disabled toilets and working out safe access to the beaches.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Councillor Marie Casserly says both locations are very popular tourist destinations and the upgrading of facilities is to be welcomed.
