‘K’ spells trouble at the end of Rathcormac

There’s another call for the spelling of the name of a village in County Sligo to be changed.

It’s Rathcormac in north Sligo, with local councillor Donal Gilroy calling on the roads agency Transport Infrastructure Ireland to stop using a ‘K’ at the end of the name on signage.

Meanwhile, Enniscrone, in West Sligo, is continuing with its effort to change the spelling of its name from starting with an ‘I’ to an ‘E’, which, local people say, is essential for social media purposes.

Councillor Gilroy is to raise the issue of Rathcormac at this Monday’s meeting of Sligo County Council .
